Susana Marques (artistic orientation)
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1974 Susana Marques as been working as a plastic artist since 2001. She´s got her BA+Postgrade in Painting by the Fine Art School in Lisbon. She participates with regularity both on solo and group exhibitions, as well as works in multi-disciplinar projects, illustrates and designs posters, and orientates educational activities.
Assunção Folque (pedagogic research)
Maria Assunção Folque is a lecturer in Early Childhood Education (ECE) at the University of Évora since 1999. Experienced pre-school teacher (1981-1993), she has been involved in initial and in-service training of pre-school and primary teachers, both at the university and within several professionals associations such as the APEI (Early Years professionals’ association) and the Portuguese Movimento da Escola Moderna (Modern School Movement); she represents the pedagogic associations in the National Council of Education.
Her PhD (2008 Institute of Education, University of London) - An investigation of the Movimento da Escola Moderna (MEM) pedagogy and its contribution to learning to learn in Portuguese Pre-schools, has been published by the Gulbenkian Foundation (Folque, M. A. 2012).
Her research interests are in Pedagogical Models and Learning, Quality in ECE, ICT in ECE, using the historical-cultural theory.
